Just like adult females, baby sea turtles also leave their trace in the sand. From the Eco-Bahia foundation, and within the Sea Turtle Conservation Program, the team carefully maintains the nests and closely monitors hatchlings to ensure their survival.
After 60 days of egg incubation on the beach, the first hatchlings of the season begin to emerge, starting their journey toward the ocean, which will become their new home.
This is a moment of great excitement and hope, reflecting the importance of protecting species and ensuring the continuity of life in the ecosystems of the Riviera Maya. The conservation work led by Eco-Bahia, with the support of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, is essential to preserving the region’s biodiversity.
The Foundation reaffirms its commitment to sharing these achievements with the community, inspiring residents and visitors to join in environmental protection efforts.
