A Space to Learn and Act for Biodiversity
The Eco-Bahia foundation reaffirmed its commitment to environmental education and ecosystem conservation at Bioferia Mexico 2025, the largest sustainability event in Latin America.
Held at the Yáanal Ha Museum in Tulum, the fair brought together companies, NGOs, and citizens with the goal of promoting a more sustainable future. Eco-Bahia presented an interactive space where attendees took part in ecological restoration activities.
One of the most notable workshops was the creation of seed bombs using recycled paper, where around 30 participants learned about the importance of reforestation with native species and its impact on ecosystem recovery.
The foundation’s participation also centered on mangrove conservation, which is vital for the biodiversity of the Mexican Caribbean.
Through an educational game inspired by Snakes and Ladders, attendees explored in a fun way the essential role of mangroves in:
• Coastal protection against storms and hurricanes
• Climate change mitigation through carbon capture
• Providing habitat for a wide variety of wildlife
“The protection of mangroves is key to the biodiversity of the Mexican Caribbean. Through activities like these, we seek to raise awareness and motivate concrete actions for their conservation,” highlighted Luis Verdin, Manager of the Eco-Bahia foundation in Mexico.
Bioferia Mexico 2025 was made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Tulum City Council and various organizations committed to sustainability.
With initiatives like this, the Eco-Bahia foundation—part of Grupo Piñero and Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts—reaffirms its mission to inspire children, youth, and adults to take an active role in protecting the environment.
The Eco-Bahia foundation invites the entire community to join its work in conservation and environmental education.
