The Eco-Bahia foundation reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and the protection of coastal ecosystems by participating in the Environmental Education Congress held in San Pedro de Macorís, under the theme: “Environmental Responsibility: Towards Sustainable Management of the Higuamo River and the Development of San Pedro de Macorís.”

Representing the Eco-Bahia foundation in the Dominican Republic, Yhoanna Díaz, Education Coordinator, presented the lecture “Mangroves in Action: Conservation and Education Transforming Boca del Soco.” Her presentation highlighted how the combination of science, education, and community participation can ensure the conservation of mangroves.
The Eco-Bahia foundation has led mangrove reforestation projects in Boca del Soco, restoring critical areas for biodiversity and strengthening the coast’s resilience against climate change.
