The Eco-Bahia foundation reaffirms its commitment to sustainability and the protection of coastal ecosystems by participating in the Environmental Education Congress held in San Pedro de Macorís, under the theme: “Environmental Responsibility: Towards Sustainable Management of the Higuamo River and the Development of San Pedro de Macorís.”

During this event, the organization presented innovative conservation and environmental education projects that strengthen community development and the protection of the natural environment.

A space for sustainability and environmental education

The congress brought together institutions, experts, and communities to discuss the importance of sustainable management of the Higuamo River, highlighting the role of education as a tool for change.

Yhoanna Díaz’s lecture on mangroves and conservation

Representing the Eco-Bahia foundation in the Dominican Republic, Yhoanna Díaz, Education Coordinator, presented the lecture “Mangroves in Action: Conservation and Education Transforming Boca del Soco.” Her presentation highlighted how the combination of science, education, and community participation can ensure the conservation of mangroves.
