A day of awareness and conservation in La Romana

World Animal Day is a key date to reflect on the care, respect, and protection of all species that inhabit our planet. To commemorate this occasion, the Eco-Bahia foundation organized an educational activity with the collaboration of the staff from Bahia Principe La Romana and Playa Nueva Romana, reaffirming its commitment to wildlife conservation and animal welfare.

Throughout the day, interactive dynamics were carried out to promote environmental awareness and emphasize the importance of protecting ecosystems. Participants shared thoughtful reflections on the relationship between humans and animals, highlighting the value of all forms of life.

The Palmchat: a symbol of biodiversity in Playa Nueva Romana

One of the most significant moments was the special mention of the Palmchat (Cigua Palmera), an endemic bird and the symbol of Playa Nueva Romana. This species represents the natural wealth of the destination and the urgent need to preserve its habitat.

Thanks to this initiative, more than 40 employees of Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts actively participated, strengthening their commitment to biodiversity conservation and contributing to the mission of Eco-Bahia: promoting environmental education and the protection of natural resources.
