Next Saturday, March 28, at 8:30 p.m. (local time), we invite you to join Earth Hour by switching off your lights, stepping onto your balcony, and sending a message of hope to the world. With your phone’s flashlight, you can write in Morse code: Turn off the lights. Everything will be fine.
This simple gesture is part of a worldwide movement against climate change and biodiversity loss promoted by WWF. This year, more than ever, the message is focused on unity, hope, and shared responsibility.
Eco-Bahia foundation encourages the entire community to take part in this initiative from their homes as a symbol of commitment. Even if we cannot gather in public spaces, we have the chance to show solidarity and environmental awareness from our balconies and windows.
In many countries, these spaces have become symbols of connection and unity during the health crisis. In 2020, they will also be the perfect stage to join together in sending a message to defend our planet—the home we all share.
