A different Valentine’s Day: love for nature

On February 14, 2020, at Telesecundaria Eleuterio Llanes in Chemuyil, Quintana Roo, Eco-Bahia foundation organized, together with teachers and students, a special day to celebrate love for nature.

During the event, students prepared work tables to create gifts made from recyclable materials. These handmade items, crafted with creativity and without the need to buy anything, offered an original way to show affection while promoting environmental awareness.

Learning to care for the environment

According to Katia Cordourier, Director of the foundation, these activities aim to strengthen environmental awareness among teenagers. The dynamics allow students to understand, in a fun and educational way, the importance of caring for and respecting the environment where they study and live.

The day also included a thorough school clean-up, where waste was separated into containers provided by Eco-Bahia foundation, classifying recyclable and non-recyclable materials.

Reflection and commitment to sustainability

At the end of the activities, all participants gathered to exchange ideas on how they can contribute daily to protecting nature. The experience encouraged students to understand that every action counts in building a more sustainable future.

Environmental conservation is everyone’s responsibility. Only by knowing, respecting, and loving nature can we achieve a truly sustainable way of life.
