The Eco-Bahia foundation carries out various activities to commemorate National Conservation Day. With the participation of children and youth, trees were planted at the Nature Interpretation Center located within Tulum Country Club.
Since 2001, Mexico has celebrated this day, which highlights the country’s extraordinary biological richness and ensures that future generations can enjoy and appreciate the diversity of flora and fauna in our terrestrial and marine ecosystems.
Being located in a privileged area like Riviera Maya comes with a responsibility to preserve it. Every November 27, the Eco-Bahia foundation celebrates this day with activities that promote environmental education and ecological awareness.
Katia Courdurier, director of Eco-Bahia foundation, says: “Having extraordinary biological richness obliges us to know, value, and preserve it. Every member of the community must get involved in conservation and protect our ecosystems and biodiversity, which are an essential part of planet Earth.”
“The goal of these actions is to remind and sensitize people about the importance of maintaining a responsible and sustainable relationship with the environment. Only this way can we ensure the well-being and growth of our societies,” the director added.
The overuse of natural resources and destruction of ecosystems have caused environmental problems such as rising temperatures, loss of biodiversity, soil erosion, desertification, and air, soil, and water pollution.
On National Conservation Day, trees were planted at the Nature Interpretation Center in Tulum Country Club, and an educational talk was given to young guests of Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Resort and their families, highlighting the importance of small actions that contribute positively to environmental conservation.
Some actions to help care for our environment include:
1. Promote and participate in environmental education.
2. Save water and avoid wasting it.
3. Make the most of sunlight to reduce energy consumption.
4. Use natural resources responsibly and sustainably.
5. Properly separate waste: reduce, recycle, and reuse.
6. Avoid non-biodegradable products.
7. Replace plastic with cardboard.
8. Avoid using aerosols.
9. Implement technologies that minimize environmental impact.
On this special occasion, Eco-Bahia foundation reinforces the We are ecocentric movement, a call to action encouraging everyone to take individual steps to achieve significant results in conserving the planet.
This movement aims to share Grupo Piñero’s environmental strategy and expand its commitment to the planet among clients, employees, partners, and the wider community, inviting everyone to embrace their most “eco-friendly” side and actively participate in environmental preservation.
