The Eco-Bahia Mexico Ecological foundation, in collaboration with PAM Academy, hosted an enriching talk on sea turtle conservation on April 26 at the iconic Playa Aventuras DIF. This event brought together a group of enthusiastic homeschoolers eager to learn more about the protection and preservation work carried out by Eco-Bahia with these endangered marine species.
Throughout the day, participants had the opportunity to explore the fascinating life cycle of sea turtles and the many challenges they face in their natural habitat. The activity was led by Yuritzi Espino, Manager of the Eco-Bahia Ecological foundation, who emphasized the importance of younger generations understanding the need to safeguard these invaluable species for the marine ecosystem.
One of the most memorable moments was the nesting simulation, where students experienced the work of turtle conservation technicians who protect loggerhead and green turtle nests each night on the beach. This activity gave participants a deeper appreciation of the importance of conservation and the responsibility involved in protecting marine wildlife.
Thanks to the collaboration with PAM Academy, students were introduced to conservation programs focused on endangered species. This reinforced the significance of protecting marine biodiversity and inspired them to become true guardians of the ocean.
“We are so fortunate to coexist with such valuable species, and therefore we must join forces to preserve them and improve their habitat,” said Yuritzi Espino.
Through initiatives like this, Eco-Bahia and PAM Academy promote environmental education as a key tool to inspire future generations and foster a culture of respect for nature.
At the Eco-Bahia ecological foundation, we work every day to protect sea turtles and conserve biodiversity in the Mexican Caribbean. Our mission would not be possible without the support of the community.
