Eco-Bahia’s commitment to ecosystems
For Eco-Bahia, being part of these committees is essential. Its director, Katia Cordourier, highlighted the importance of coordinated work to understand Tulum’s underground hydrological system and its interaction with ecosystems, biodiversity, and the community.
This comprehensive approach seeks to create conservation strategies that involve active community participation, strengthening the environmental commitment of Bahia Principe Riviera Maya Resort and its partners.
Mr. Gustavo Maldonado, Director of Urban Development and Ecology of the Tulum City Council, presented progress such as the Coastal Urban Observatory, along with key projects:
* Sargassum response protocol

Both initiatives will be shared with the Basin Committee for review and feedback, reinforcing environmental management in the region.
The session included representatives from institutions and organizations such as: the Municipality of Tulum, CONANP, Conagua, Amigos de Sian Ka’an, Akumal Ecological Center, the University of Quintana Roo, Fundación Orígenes, the Tulum Hotel Association, among many others committed to sustainable development.
