The Eco-Bahia foundation reaffirmed its commitment to environmental conservation and education through its participation in the Tulum Championship by PGA Riviera Maya – Korn Ferry Tour 2025. During this high-level sporting event, held at Tulum Country Club, more than $33,000 MXN were raised to support projects aimed at protecting local wildlife and flora, generating a positive impact on the region’s environmental sustainability.
From April 30 to May 4, the Eco-Bahia foundation engaged over one thousand attendees in interactive activities at the Fan Zone and on the golf course, raising awareness about the importance of conservation. Among the highlights was the Trackman Golf Simulator, where every swing symbolized a step toward protecting the planet. Visitors actively participated in educational dynamics that demonstrated how sport can serve as a powerful tool to foster environmentally responsible habits.
Thanks to the enthusiastic participation of both players and spectators, $33,375 MXN were raised and will be allocated to the foundation’s priority programs, including:
• Protection of endangered sea turtles
• Reforestation with native species in Quintana Roo
• Environmental education in local communities
Luis Verdín, Manager of the Eco-Bahia foundation, emphasized:
"Beyond the figure itself, we celebrate the strengthening of the bond between the community and conservation. Environmental education is key to protecting our natural environment."
Sergio González, Director of PGA Riviera Maya, reaffirmed the shared commitment to sustainability:
"Collaborating with the Eco-Bahia foundation allows us to build a model of responsible sport, integrating world-class sporting experiences with initiatives that promote respect for nature."
This partnership exemplifies how sporting events can become effective platforms for promoting environmental sustainability and ecological responsibility.
With more than two decades of continuous work and over two million sea turtles protected, the Eco-Bahia foundation stands as a leader in conservation projects in Mexico. Its approach combines science, environmental education, and community action to generate positive and lasting environmental impact.
The foundation invites the community to join its mission through donations, volunteering, and participation in educational programs. Every contribution is vital to continuing the protection of biodiversity and fostering environmental awareness in Quintana Roo and beyond.
