A Commitment to Water and the Future
Water is one of the planet’s most valuable resources, and protecting it is a top priority for Grupo Piñero. That’s why World Water Day is a key moment to strengthen the company’s Ecoist spirit, promoting responsible practices among employees and the communities where it operates.
This year, the team at the Bávaro Complex, supported by the Eco-Bahia foundation, organized an educational event with students from Liceo César Nicolás Penson, aiming to teach the value of water for life and its essential role in natural ecosystems in a fun and interactive way.
Throughout the day, children engaged in a variety of interactive and educational activities designed to help them understand the water cycle, its role in sustaining life, and the negative consequences of its disruption.
Highlights of the day included:
- Interactive games simulating the water cycle and its different stages.
- Hands-on workshops where students built simple water filters to learn about purification.
- The installation of a demonstration aquaponics system, showing how vegetables can be grown using water efficiently and sustainably.
These activities help children become agents of change, bringing the message of sustainability and water conservation back to their families and communities.
The Eco-Bahia foundation, the environmental branch of Grupo Piñero, actively designs and implements educational and conservation programs in the destinations where Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts operates. Its mission is clear: to protect the environment through education, action, and collaboration with local communities.
Initiatives like this one show how responsible tourism and environmental education can work hand in hand to create long-term positive impact.
Celebrating World Water Day is not just about marking a date — it’s about embracing the daily responsibility of protecting water. At Grupo Piñero, this commitment is reflected in every action, every educational initiative, and every project led by the Eco-Bahia foundation.
Because only through awareness, education, and collective action can we ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.
