The importance of responsible energy use
Today, February 14, we celebrate World Energy Day. In our daily lives, energy is essential, which is why Eco-Bahia foundation encourages raising awareness about its responsible consumption.
The goal is to promote alternative energy sources and reduce reliance on non-renewable energy, protecting the environment and contributing to a sustainable future.
Some actions everyone can implement include:
* Replace regular bulbs with energy-saving ones
* Take advantage of natural light
* Turn off lights when not needed
* Use residual heat from ovens and glass
* Unplug appliances that are not in use
* Use household appliances efficiently
* Iron clothes all at once
* Avoid keeping the freezer and refrigerator open
* Maintain the proper temperature in your home
Changing habits to protect the planet
It is estimated that approximately 80% of energy is produced from fossil fuels, of which 36% comes from oil, while only 2% comes from renewable energy sources.
It is time to reflect and make changes in our daily routines. Small actions—like turning off lights, printing consciously, or thinking before buying—help protect nature and all the life that depends on it.
Happy World Energy Day.
